The student will learn how to take an allergy history and how best to clinically evaluate the allergic patient. There will be emphasis on understanding skin testing techniques as well as other immunologic tools which may be used in a clinical allergy evaluation. There will also be teaching regarding the use and interpretation of pulmonary function tests. In addition to diagnosis, there will also be emphasis on treatment of allergic patients which may involve immunotherapy as well as pharmacotherapy.
