YES VISITING STUDENTS
This elective clerkship offers students the opportunity for exposure to neonatal techniques and care patterns for the sick neonate. Students are assigned to the Sparrow Hospital Neonatal Unit working with the neonatologists and neonatology fellows. Night call is usually one night in four. Students are generally assigned 3‐4 patients at a time and are responsible for presenting the patients progress at daily rounds and for caring for the patient (under the supervision of the attendings and fellows) during the day. Students are encouraged to perform and scrub in on basic procedures. During the final week of the rotation, students will be responsible for giving a brief presentation on a clinical aspect of neonatology. Students are expected to attend the various teaching programs of the Division of Neonatology, including journal clubs, research seminars, and clinical reviews.
