Lansing Campus

The Michigan State University College of Human Medicine Lansing Campus has been a clinical campus since the beginning. Diverse Lansing campus teaching faculty consists of full time MSU employed physicians, college appointment community physicians, residents, fellows and allied health care professionals. The teaching sites include Sparrow Health System, McLaren Healthcare Greater Lansing, MSU HealthTeam and participating physician offices. The health systems have a total bed capacity of 1,025 and offer state of the art services in a broad range of surgical and medical specialties including a level 1 trauma center, Regional Neonatal Intensive care, Comprehensive stroke center, cardiovascular services including open heart surgeries, neurology, stroke care, rehabilitation, state of the art women and children’s services, neonatal and pediatric intensive care, orthopedics, vascular and bariatric surgery and a broad range of cancer care. The Lansing campus offers students access to a large selection of specialty and sub-specialty rotations.

Graduate Programs

The Lansing campus has graduate programs in internal medicine, surgery, pediatrics, obstetrics/gynecology, emergency medicine, psychiatry, family practice, and physical medicine and rehabilitation. In addition, fellowship programs exist in cardiology, geriatrics, neonatology, and hematology/oncology. Teaching medical students is an integral part of these graduate programs, and the residents and fellows hold volunteer clinical appointments through their respective department at Michigan State University.
